Membership Eligibility You may join Metco Credit Union if you or a family member lives or works in Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Iowa, Johnson, Jones or Linn Counties. Once a member always a member. History Over fifty years ago (2/7/57), with a vision, thirty City employees from ten different departments organized the Cedar Rapids Municipal Employees Credit Union. A few years later (9/28/66), Linn County Employees Credit Union was organized. And on, July 1, 1977, Metco Credit Union was created by a merger of Municipal Employees credit union with Linnco credit union. November 17, 1980, Metco moved into the new building on 8th Avenue SW.
