I am moving to Nashville Tn and I have to change banks b/c I currently bank with Eastman Credit Union which I love but they don't have a location or anything there. Does anyone have any suggestions from personal experiences where I should bank?

I absolutely LOVE the Bank of Nashville! I switched to them after AmSouth (now Regions bank) gave me a lot of problems. I bank at 2 separate locations and both of them greet me and all the kids by name every time I come in. One of the branches even sent me a birthday card hand signed by everyone at the bank! There are always lollipops and tootsie rolls for the kiddies (and me, too!) and everyone is so friendly. They have lots of cool services too, of course, but I also really enjoy the personal service. Good Luck on your move- we moved here 7 years ago (to Hendersonville actually, although I work in nashville) and couldn't be happier!

Are you moving here from Kingsport? You basically have three main options:
(a) BIG Chain banks with lots of branches, such as SunTrust, Regions, Bank of America
(b) Smaller regional sized banks like Fifth/Third and First State Bank
(c) Local Credit Unions here in Nashville that are open to the public, depending on what part of Nashville you'll be living in.

There are pros and cons to each of these three main categories. You may get more personal service at a Credit Union, but you may get lots more ATMs with a large chain bank. Regions and SunTrust are probably the best large chain banks.

Call around, or go to the websites, of several of the banks and credit unions and review their options for checking/savings, and even loans if you're interested in those, though I hope you have no interest in a loan.
